Frequently asked questions
How do I start and stop a parking session?
Open the app where you parked and tap Park here. The app finds the zone from your location and shows its code (for example 19157) and the price. Check them and confirm. When you leave, tap End parking. Sessions only start when you start them. The one exception is automatic parking in the car, which is experimental and off unless you switch it on (see below).
How is a session billed?
By the second, at the city's tariff for the zone. A session that ends within 60 seconds is free. After that, it is billed from the moment it started.
How does the wallet work?
You pay for parking from a prepaid wallet that you top up with iDEAL. When a session ends, its cost comes off your balance. The balance never goes below zero. If a session costs more than you have, your next top-up pays the difference first, and you can't start a new session until that's done.
What is auto top-up?
It's optional. You set up a SEPA Direct Debit mandate through Mollie, and when your balance runs low we top it up by a fixed amount that the app shows you. You can switch it off and revoke the mandate in the app at any time.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. When you delete your account we refund your remaining balance, and you can email us to ask for your balance back at any time. If you think a session was charged wrongly, send us its date and time and we'll look into it.
I got a parking fine. What now?
Park4Me doesn't pay fines. If the app showed an active session at the time, email us the details of the fine. We'll send you the session record so you can object with the municipality. The terms explain this in more detail.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile → Delete account. If you don't have the app, email us from the address you signed up with. More on deleting your account.
Does Park4Me work on my car's screen?
Yes, if your car has Google built-in (Android Automotive). You park from the car's screen the same way as on your phone. In the car you can also switch on automatic parking. It's experimental and off by default. When it's on, the app reads the car's gear position and speed to start and end sessions by itself, and it can get this wrong, so keep an eye on it. The app only reads these signals. It never controls the car. Automatic parking doesn't run on the phone app.
